powerPerfector was developed in Japan almost 20 years ago. So, while new to the Irish Market, over 185,000 units have been installed worldwide with no requirement for repair or replacement. In the UK similar success and reliability is evident from the numerous installations across many different business and government sectors. Also in January 2008 powerPerfector Ltd signed an agreement with British Energy which allowed British Energy to introduce Voltage Power Optimisation to their entire client base.
High profile global clients include Tesco, Hilton Hotels, the University of Cambridge, Orange, KFC, Marriott Hotels, Ofgem, 3M and RBS.
Once a powerPerfector unit has been installed, electrical energy consumption on the site will be reduced, with an associated reduction in maximum demand and base load. As part of the service offered by powerPerfector, twelve weeks following an installation we provide you with a detailed analysis of your new energy profile.
To carry out this analysis, we require access to the site’s half-hourly data. This is typically provided by the utility company that supplies the electricity, and can be requested by phone or email. Alternatively, powerPerfector can request this data on your behalf if we have your authorisation. Electricity bills are based on the half-hourly readings, which form the basis of the analysis; a 13% average reduction in half-hourly consumption is a 13% reduction in electricity costs.
Every site is different, so the methodology used will vary from one analysis to another. Essentially the object is to determine what the energy consumption would have been had the powerPerfector not been installed, and compare this to the actual consumption. If energy use is highly variable, perhaps because it is very sensitive to changes in temperature or some other factor, it is sometimes necessary to normalise the data in order to compare like with like. These analysis processes will be fully explained, and powerPerfector are happy to respond to any questions regarding the analysis methods used.
For complex sites, in line with the internationally recognised IPMVP energy analysis methodology, we will agree with you in advance the metrics used to determine your energy savings, following our pre-installation assessment. A pre-installation report will be produced for each installation, indicating how the savings will be determined based on previous half-hourly data, and confirming the level of savings that are expected. A final report on the savings and Return on Investment achieved will then be produced 2-3 months after installation. If your ROI is under 80% of that predicted, powerPerfector will rebate such funds as necessary to restore the ROI to that level.
Once an analysis has been completed we will ask your permission to use your site as a case study, and may ask for a quotation about your experience with powerPerfector.
